In a statement granted to Tunisie Numérique, MP and member of the Committee on Industry, Trade, Natural Resources, Energy and the Environment at the House of People’s Representatives Mohamed Ali Fenira remarked on the two projects examined at the parliament relating to the approval of the agreement relating to the advantages of exploitation of the Ashtart permit and the Rahmoura oil field.
The MP recollected that these two bills are part of the process of examining benefits whose expiration period has expired and were approved during a ministerial session held on May 17, 2022.
“A meeting was held at the level of the parliamentary academy to review the deal relating to the renewal of permits for the exploitation of the Ashtart and Rahmoura fields. The deputies intended to reject this convention and the partnership with foreigners for two fields. ”
As a reminder, the current daily production at Ashtart is 4,700 barrels and an estimated reserve of almost 64 million barrels of oil.
Daily production from the Rahmoura well is estimated at 380 barrels of crude oil. Full production from the well reached 7.4 million barrels of oil at the end of 2021, with a remaining reserve for exploration estimated at 1.1 million barrels of crude oil.
