Mohammed Barkindo re-elected for a second mandate as OPEC’s secretary general

The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries has re-elected Mohammed Barkindo as secretary general for a second three-year term at OPEC meeting in Vienna.

Mohammed Barkindo properly served his first mandate on 1 August of 2016. During his term, the OPEC promptly saw the joining of Equatorial Guinea and Congo.
