More than 200 dead in Israeli strike on Gaza refugee camp

The Israeli occupation army announced in a statement the liberation of four Israeli prisoners from Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, following intense air, land, and sea bombardments on the area. These bombardments resulted in a large number of casualties and injuries, mostly among women and children.

The statement identified the liberated prisoners as Noa Argamani, Almoa Meir, Andrei Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv. It remarked that the health condition of the four liberated individuals was good, and they were transferred to Tel Hashomer Hospital for medical examination.

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari stated in a press conference that the four prisoners were saved in a joint operation by the IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police. He mentioned that the operation was conducted based on intelligence information and operations by Shin Bet and Yamam.

On its part, the  Ministry of Health in Gaza declared that “large numbers” of killed and wounded were arriving at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the majority of whom are children and women.

“Dozens of injured people are lying on the ground, and medical teams are trying to save them with the basic medical capabilities they have available,” it said, adding that it is short on medicine and food and that its main generator has stopped functioning due to a lack of fuel.

A statement released by the Gaza Government Media Office said that 210 people had been killed in the Israeli attacks on Nuseirat and other parts of central Gaza.

A health ministry spokesman earlier said that there were still “a lot of” bodies and wounded people that remained on the streets.
