During a general session on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, devoted to oral questions, MP Mohamed Amin Al-Warghi raised pressing concerns to Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines, Fatma Thabet Cheboub, stressing the issue of outstanding debts owed to the Tunisian Chemical Complex by foreign companies.
Al-Warghi pointed out that an Indian company owes about 600 million dinars to the complex, along with other companies that, according to him, are carrying out projects using the complex’s funds. This raises serious questions regarding the financial management of this crucial institution.
These concerns come at a time of economic challenges, fueling debates on transparency in managing public institutions and protecting national interests. Will the ministry provide clear explanations regarding these financial matters? What actions will be taken to recover the funds and prevent similar situations in the future? These questions remain open, awaiting official responses.
