Nabil Ammar participates in 8th session of Tunisian-Burkinabe Joint Commission

Mr. Nabil Ammar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, is chairing the Tunisian delegation participating in the eighth session of the Tunisian-Burkini Joint Committee scheduled to be held in the Burkinabe capital, Ouagadougou, on July 1st and 2nd, 2024.
The visit program includes a number of meetings with senior Burkinabe officials, addressing the cooperation between the two countries and its prospects in various fields, in addition to current regional and international issues, reads a press release from the foreign ministry.
The Minister will also have press interviews with the most prominent Burkinabe media, and a meeting with representatives of the Tunisian community residing in Burkina Faso, in addition to visits to the headquarters of Tunisian companies located in Ouagadougou.
At the initiative of the Ministry, a Tunisian-Burkini Economic Forum will be held on the sidelines of the Joint Committee, on July 1st, 2024. Minister Ammar and the Burkinabe Minister of Industrial Development, Trade, Handicrafts and SMEs, will jointly inaugurate this Forum in which an important delegation of Tunisian businessmen, headed by Mr. Samir Majoul, President of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts (UTICA), will participate.
This visit is of particular importance, as Burkina Faso represents one of Tunisia’s most important economic partners in West Africa. Actually, the volume of trade exchanges with this country has increased, in recent years. The trade balance between the two countries has also recorded a surplus for years in favor of Tunisia, particularly in the sector of food and electrical products and building materials exports. Tunisia is also a favorite destination for Burkinabe students and patients.
It should be noted that the Tunisian-Burkini joint committee was not held since 2016.
