The National Heritage Institute (INP) announced on Thursday that it is operating to retrieve archaeological works and pieces temporarily exported to the US and European countries from 1980-1997 to be analyzed as part of a project with UNESCO to save the archaeological site of Carthage.
“The institute is currently cooperating with the University of Georgia in the USA to recover 11,795 archaeological pieces including 3,460 archaeological coins kept at this American university. The INP will also recover other archaeological pieces from other research institutions,” the INP announced.
