Netherlands to enter lockdown on Dec. 15

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte stated on Monday the nation is set to begin a nationwide coronavirus-related lockdown, as tougher measures are required to stop the further spreading.

The lockdown measures are assumed to last at least five weeks, Rutte said in a live conference and will take force from Tuesday, December 15. All schools, non-essential shops, leisure locations and indoor sports events will be closed until January 18 under the measure, while non-essential travel will be restricted.
