Bachir Zawawi, a specialist in gynaecology-obstetrics and member of the Tunisian Society of Obstetric Gynecology, informed TAP that a new vaccine against cervical cancer will be available for young girls beginning at the age of 12.
According to Zawawi, this vaccine will be administered starting in 2025 as part of a national strategy to eradicate cervical cancer. This strategy furthermore includes screening for human papillomavirus (HPV) in women aged 30 and over.
