The second round of nuclear talks between the United States and Iranian delegations will take place in Rome on April 19 with Oman’s Foreign Ministry acting as mediator, Iran’s national broadcaster confirmed on Wednesday.
Additionally, Western media reported that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff could travel from Paris to Rome on Saturday to join the talks after meeting with Emmanuel Macron.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei warned that the negotiations may fall apart if “goalposts” are moved. “It could be perceived as lack of seriousness, let alone good faith. We’re still in testing mode,” he said in a post on X. Earlier in the week, Baqaei ensured that the second round of talks will once again be held in Oman.
