Attorney and columnist Sonia Dahmani was in the office of the investigating judge of the Court of First Instance of Tunis this Monday, May 20, following the arrest warrant which was issued last Monday. The magistrate decided to extend his pre-trial detention. The lawyer talked before the judge who ultimately rejected her request for release, Maître Abdelaziz Essid, member of the defence committee, told Mosaïque FM.
Let us recall that Maître Dahmani was picked up by the police on May 11, 2024, on the premises of the bar association, following a warrant signed by the judge after she declined to respond to his summons. She was to be questioned on a media release relating to sub-Saharan migrants.
