Serbian Ministry of Defence said on Sunday that there were no survivors after the Antonov An-12 cargo plane crashed on Saturday in Greece on its way from Serbia to Jordan.
The plane was owned by a Ukrainian airline and, according to the Serbian ministry, it was carrying 11.5 tons of Serbian defence material to Bangladesh. The Greek media previously reported that the Soviet-built aircraft was carrying ”dangerous materials,” mostly explosives, which is why the residents of that area were advised not to leave their homes and not to open their windows.
There were eight people on the plane, the Serbian defence minister noted, while Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that all crew members were citizens of Ukraine.
