Novavax seeks vaccine approval from WHO

Novavax Inc. announced on Thursday that it filed an application with the World Health Organization for the approval of its COVID-19 vaccine, a month later than original plans suggested.

The American company asked for vaccine approval from the WHO joint by India’s Serum Institute, with the goal of exporting the jab to middle and low-income countries.

The two entities previously pledged to provide the COVAX facility with over 1.1 billion vaccine doses. According to the results of clinical trials in the United States, the shot is 90% effective in preventing COVID-19.
