Official Ceremony Held on Habib Bourguiba Avenue to Mark the 69th Anniversary of Independence Day (Photos)

Imed Boukhris, Governor of Tunis, attended the official flag-raising ceremony on Thursday, March 20, 2025, on Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis to commemorate the 69th anniversary of Independence Day. The event, organized by the Honor Guard of the National Army, was held as a tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs, activists, and resistance fighters who fought for the nation’s sovereignty and pride.

The ceremony was attended by First Deputy Governor Khouloud El-Hechri, along with:

• Local district administrators
• Members of the Parliament representing Tunis
• Members of the National Council of Regions and Districts
• Municipal secretaries-general
• Regional and local administrative, security, and civil protection officials
• Members of regional and local councils
• Representatives of national organizations, civil society, and resistance veterans

On this occasion, the Governor of Tunis honoured a group of resistance fighters and their families, expressing gratitude for their sacrifices in securing the nation’s independence and dignity.
