P-a-l-e-s-t-i-n-e welcomes Guterres’ Art. 99 initiative

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed the initiative of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to convene a Security Council meeting under Article 99 of the UN Charter. This initiative is aimed at addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and the ministry considers it a necessary step consistent with the responsibilities of the Council and international institutions. The ministry condemned the incitement by Israel against Guterres’ tenure and urged global leaders to support the initiative and call for a ceasefire resolution in light of the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza caused by the Israeli military operations.
