Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated that American support for Israel “calls into question international legitimacy and violates norms and morals”, since it employed the “veto power” four times in the last seven months, including three to stop an end to Israeli aggression against Gaza, and once to prevent Palestine from gaining full access to the UN.
The Palestinian president called on the United States to stop using its veto, adhere to international law, end double standards and pressure Israel to release Palestinian funds.
