Palestinian UN envoy: Palestinian wishes should be respected

Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour called on world leaders to “respect the wishes of the Palestinian people” after United States President Donald Trump announced his plan for the US to take over the Gaza Strip.

“Our homeland is our homeland,” Mansour said in a video message on X, adding that Palestinians wish to return to their homes in Gaza, to “rebuild the schools, the hospitals, the roads…Because this is where they belong and they love to live there.”

“For those who want to send them to a happy, nice place let them go back to their original homes inside Israel,” he said.
