Philippines hit by 5.3-magnitude earthquake

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake was registered in the Philippines on Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The epicentre was 28 kilometres east-north-east of the city of Pondaguitan. The tremor struck the region at a depth of 58.2 kilometres and it remains unknown as of yet whether it resulted in any casualties.
