At least 45 people have passed away and dozens were wounded when a Philippines Air Force plane transporting troops crashed and burst into flames after missing the runway in the country’s south.
The Department of National Defence announced 45 people had been killed, including three civilians on the ground, while 53 were injured, including four civilians. Five military staff were still missing.
The C-130 Hercules transport plane had at least 96 people on board.
According to the military, the three pilots who were on board the aircraft survived the crash but were severely injured.
