President Kaïs Saïed dismisses head of El Manar district of Sonede

President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, paid a visit to the western suburbs of Tunis, on Saturday, June 29, 2024. During this visit, he reported a substantial leak of drinking water from a pipe belonging to the Company National Water Exploitation and Distribution Authority (Sonede).

In a press release made public by the Presidency of the Republic on Sunday evening, June 30, 2024, it is specified that after a thorough review of all the details of this affair, it was decided to dismiss from office the head of the district of El Manar de la Sonede.

The President of the Republic also ordered the opening of a judicial inquiry to shed light on the circumstances leading to this water leak and to determine possible responsibilities.
