The president of the Tunisian Organization of Young Doctors (OTJM), Wajih Dhokkar, stirred up controversy yesterday, Saturday, March 22. He described the situation in public hospitals on social media, with an official document from La Rabta Hospital in Tunis that speaks volumes regarding the endemic problems…
“In the same hospital that dazzles us every time with a new medical feat and where the ministry advertises its successes (…), I would like to point out that patients undergoing surgery are compelled to bring their compresses, Betadine, a whole pack of gloves, etc.”, the young practitioner denounced.
“This type of practice is common. Making it public is not an incentive to discouragement but an invitation to the ministry to get back on its feet and start over,” Dr. Dhokkar insisted. He added that what he deplores is apparent in all hospitals across the country, without exception.
