Presidential Election: Initial Assessment of Voter Turnout by ISIE Member

Belgacem Ayachi, member of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE), stated on Sunday, October 6, on National Television (Al Wataniya) that the turnout for the presidential election will not be far from the figures for the last presidential elections…

He added that Tunisian citizens have a different conception of the presidential election, which does not permit for a parallel to be drawn with the legislative and local elections.

He even believes that the anticipated turnout for the 2024 election will be higher than in the last election. “The automatic registration technique adopted by the ISIE allowed the addition of 3 million voters,” he added, and this operation will have an impact on the turnout according to him…

“If 3 million of the 9 million voters vote, we will have a rate of around 30%,” said the ISIE member.
