Price point: Harissa 135g increases by 24% in a month and half

As part of its price observatory, the Tunisie Numérique team brings out weekly monitoring of the costs of consumer products for Tunisian households.

Prices are taken directly from the public media of a major distribution brand and exclude promotions.

The prices involve national brand products.

The evolution of prices makes it feasible to characterize the effective inflation for each product.

Today, focus on canned Harissa 135g, a common consumer product. We see a substantial price increase:

  • 11/21/2023: 1,210 TND
  • 10/01/2024: 1,495 TND

This increase represents inflation of 24% or 0.285 TND in less than two months.

It should be recalled that, according to the INS, the average inflation rate for the year 2023 stands at 9.3%.
