Price point: Soft drink increases by 8% in month and half

As part of its price observatory, the Tunisie Numérique crew carries out weekly monitoring of the costs of consumer products for Tunisian households.

Prices are taken straight from the public media of a major distribution brand and exclude promotions.

The prices involve national brand products.

The evolution of prices makes it likely to characterize the effective inflation for each product.

Today, focus on a 1L Soft Drink, a common consumer product. We see a substantial price increase:

  • 11/21/2023: 2,150 TND
  • 10/01/2024: 2,320 TND

This increase represents inflation of 8% or 0.170 TND more in less than two months.

It should be recalled that, according to the INS, the average inflation rate for the year 2023 stands at 9.3%.
