Russian President Vladimir Putin told his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that Moscow will formally recognize the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), Kremlin confirmed on Monday.
The Kremlin stated that Putin told Macron and Scholz that “he intends to sign a relevant decree in the immediate future.” “The President of France and Chancellor of Germany expressed disappointment with this development. They also expressed a willingness to continue contacts,” the statement read.
