Qatar announces conclusion of humanitarian truce agreement between Israel and Hamas

The Qatari Foreign Ministry today revealed the conclusion of a humanitarian truce agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip for a period of four days with the possibility of an extension.

“This deal is the result of mediation efforts led by Qatar, the USA and Egypt. The truce provides for the liberation, in a first phase, of 50 Israeli hostages among women and children and a number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons,” Qatar specifies.

I noted that this also provides for the entry into the Gaza Strip of humanitarian aid including fuel.
