Qatar is preparing to reopen its embassy in Syria “soon” after completing the required protocols, Qatari News Agency QNA English reported on Wednesday citing the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid al-Ansari.
“Adviser to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the reopening of the Qatar Embassy in Syria soon after completing the necessary procedures,” QNA added.
Al-Ansari highlighted that the embassy’s reopening “will enhance cooperation with pertinent entities to ensure the efficient delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian population via the air corridor.” The Qatari embassy in Damascus has remained shuttered since 2011.
