Speaking with Tunisie Numérique on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, water resources expert Hussein Rahili noted that the National Institute of Meteorology’s rainfall forecasts are always subject to accuracy or inaccuracy, depending on diverse criteria.
Our speaker also indicated that rain in the south or center could be beneficial at various levels, particularly for olive trees, which have been greatly impacted by the recent drought, and in light of the approaching olive season.
Rahili said that rainfall during this period would be helpful for surface and semi-subterranean tables, which have suffered considerably from stress due to drought and lack of rain.
