Ramaphosa reelected as South Africa’s president

South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa  was reelected by lawmakers for a second term Friday after getting 283 votes against 44 to Julius Malema in the 400-member Parliament.

His office said that negotiations on policies and cabinet positions will extend beyond Friday, noting that the mandated period of two weeks after the election results has been insufficient to finalize a coalition agreement.
