According to a World Atlas report, the world’s largest hospitals are ranked based on their bed capacity. Here are the top ten:

1. NUMBER ONE HOSPITAL AFFILIATED WITH ZHENGZHOU UNIVERSITY, CHINA: 7,000 BEDS
The number one hospital affiliated with Zhengzhou University is currently the largest in the globe with a capacity of 7,000 beds. Established in 1928, it was moved to Zhengzhou in 1958 and has undergone several name modifications over the years.

2. WEST CHINA MEDICAL CENTER, CHINA: 4,300 BEDS
West China Medical Center, affiliated with Sichuan University, is the second-largest hospital with 4,300 beds. It is found in Chengdu and was founded in 1914.

3. NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH CENTER, PHILIPPINES: 4,200 BEDS
The National Mental Health Center in the Philippines, located in Mandaluyong, is the third largest hospital with 4,200 beds. Founded in 1928, it surrounds an area of ​​470,000 square meters.

4. LINKOU CHANG GUNG MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, TAIWAN: 4,000 BEDS
Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital is the largest hospital in Taiwan with 4,000 beds. It is part of the Chang Gung Medical Foundation and was established in 1978 in Taoyuan.

5. ANKARA BILKENT CITY HOSPITAL, Türkiye: 3,810 BEDS
Inaugurated in 2019, Ankara Bilkent City Hospital in Turkey is the fifth-largest hospital with 3,810 beds. It is located in the Bilkent district of Ankara.

6. SRI LANKA NATIONAL HOSPITAL, SRI LANKA: 3,404 BEDS
The National Hospital of Sri Lanka in Colombo, founded in 1864, is the country’s leading healthcare facility. It has 3,404 beds, and 21 operating rooms and treats more than two million patients per year.

7. CHRIS HANI BARAGWANATH HOSPITAL, SOUTH AFRICA: 3,200 BEDS
Located in Soweto, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital is the largest hospital in Africa with 3,200 beds. It is managed by the Gauteng Department of Health and is affiliated with the University of the Witwatersrand.

8. QASR EL AINY HOSPITAL, EGYPT: 3,200 BEDS
Qasr El Ainy Hospital, affiliated with Cairo University, is the largest hospital in Egypt with 3,200 beds. It is a medical research and education centre located in Cairo.

9. SERBIA MEDICAL CENTER, SERBIA: 3,150 BEDS
The Serbia Medical Center in Belgrade is the country’s main medical facility with 3,150 beds. It plays a vital role in the provision of healthcare in Serbia.

10. GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE, KOZHIKODE, INDIA: 3,025 BEDS
The Government Medical College in Kozhikode, also known as Calicut Medical College, is the largest hospital in India with 3,025 beds. Founded in 1957, it is located about 8 kilometres east of central Kozhikode in the state of Kerala.
