Riadh Jrad: Presidential candidates use fraud to hide their failure

Columnist Riadh Jrad took to his Facebook page to disclose some vital information concerning the Tunisian presidential elections scheduled for October 6.

He condemned what he considers to be blatant manipulation of public opinion by certain radio stations which he accuses of broadcasting lies and biased information throughout this summer.

Riadh Jrad insisted on the fact that the majority of supposedly serious candidates, according to these radio stations, did not even manage to get the necessary sponsorships a few days before the deadline for submitting applications.

Worse still, some of them allegedly perpetrated fraud in an attempt to guarantee these sponsorships. This situation explains, according to Jrad, why these candidates lament and mention problems with ballot number 3 (B3) as part of a well-orchestrated campaign aimed at discrediting the electoral process.

The columnist emphasises the irony of the situation: the security services contacted several of these supposedly serious candidates to give them their B3, but the latter refused and preferred to claim that the security services were preventing them from obtaining certain documents, in particular the B3. This would permit them to mask their failure to mobilize the required popular support and secure the required sponsorships by falsely blaming the authorities for their supposed inaction.
