Russia and China vetoed on Friday a resolution at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), sponsored by the United States, calling for an “immediate and sustained ceasefire” in the ongoing war in Gaza.
The veto came amid accusations from Russia’s UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzya, who criticized the resolution’s language and accused US officials of politicizing the issue for misleading reasons.
