Russia escorts US, French planes over Black Sea

Russia’s National Defense Control Center stated on Thursday that the country’s Su-27 fighters escorted French and the United States Air Force planes over the Black Sea.

The country reported that the planes approaching its state borders were the CL-600 Artemis reconnaissance aircraft and the Mirage-2000, after which it intercepted the aircraft and escorted them over the Black Sea.

The news comes in the wake of heightened tensions between Russia and the West, over the formers increased army buildup near the Ukrainian border.
