Russia: explosion at Dagestan petrol station kills at least 30

At least 35 people have been killed and dozens injured in an explosion at a petrol station in southern Russia.

The blast erupted in the Dagestan regional capital, Makhachkala, on the coast of the Caspian Sea.

According to local media, the fire started at a car repair centre near the petrol station.

 

A state of emergency was introduced in the Kumtorkalinsky district in Dagestan, according to regional head Sergei Melikov.
