Russia Today Arabic sets up in Algeria

 Russia Today (RT), disclosed on Thursday, December 7, 2023, its intent to open a regional office in Algeria devoted to its Arabic-language version, RT Arabic. The director of RT Arabic, Maya Manna, shared this information during the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between RT Arabic and the Algerian channel, AL24 News, in Algiers.

This agreement seeks to ease the exchange of information and audiovisual programs, collaboration during media coverage of international events, and mutual technical support. The director of AL24 News, Salim Aggar, emphasised that this deal is an initiative aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries, highlighting training, sharing of experiences and media coverage of world events.

Maya Manna, director of RT Arabic, welcomed this collaboration as a “new milestone” for the strengthening of strategic relations between Algeria and Russia in the field of communication. Remark that the Russia Today channel is recognized for its alternative approach to current affairs, often in opposition to the reading of Western media.
