Saied to Workers: Trade unionists are supposed to defend you…But I will take care of it myself

During his working visit to the Belvédère municipal swimming pool, February 15, 2024, the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, listened to the troubles of several citizens.

The Head of State confirmed several workers who called on him to interfere and examine their situation, that “subcontracting is a type of slavery legalized in Tunisia and which must be annulled as soon as possible”. Saied, again, emphasised that workers must benefit from their rights and revise fragile and limited contracts.

The President of the Republic continued that “The trade unionists are responsible for the problems of the subcontracting workers (…) They must speak about their concerns (…) But I will take care of their legitimate demands myself until at the end(…)” he vowed .
