Samir Cheffi banned from UGTT headquarters, trade union condemns

“The executive office of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) denounces the “attempted attack on the union organization and deputy general secretary Samir Cheffi” by “a group of protesters belonging to a parallel organization,” reads a statement issued today by the newspaper Achaabnews.

The UGTT Executive Office states it is ready to defend its activists and its premises and has warned against any attack on the union center.

Videos shared on social networks show Samir Cheffi being barred by a group of individuals from accessing the UGTT headquarters in Tunis.
