Saved in Djerba at end of 2023, sea turtle reaches Egyptian coasts via Libyan coasts

The Jlij Association for the Marine Environment announced today that a sea turtle saved in Djerba on Saturday, December 30, 2023, reached the Salloum marine reserve on the Egyptian coast today, passing via all the Libyan coasts. She was located and spotted employing a transmitter placed on her back.

This sea turtle was rescued by the LifeMedturtles project team from the Faculty of Sciences of Sfax in partnership with the Mahari Djerba hotel and the North Africa Sea Turtles Network (NASTNet).
