Scheduled power cuts in regions of Monastir and Sidi Bouzid

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, several regions in the governorates of Monastir and Sidi Bouzid in Tunisia will experience momentary  electricity interruptions, reported  by the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG).

This measure is part of periodic maintenance aimed at supporting and improving the quality of electrical networks.

Cuts schedule

– In Monastir, electricity will be cut from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the tourist area, mainly impacting hotel institutions and businesses.

– In Sidi Bouzid, the interruptions will be as follows:

  • From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.: the industrial zone, as well as the neighbourhoods of Ouled Chelbi, El Baraka, Zaafria, Hwejbia, and Um El Adham in the municipality of Sidi Bouzid West will be without power.
  • From 9 a.m. to noon: the area around the Sidi Bouzid Regional Hospital will also be affected, mainly to allow the pruning of trees near power lines.
    Gradual Recovery

STEG underscores that the return of power will be carried out gradually, depending on the progress of the work, and without prior notice. Residents of affected areas are encouraged to make arrangements and plan accordingly to minimize inconvenience.

The company relies on the understanding of its customers during these necessary interruptions for the continuous improvement of the service. Infrastructure maintenance is crucial to prevent more severe breakdowns and ensure the safety of electrical installations.
