South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) told reporters on Thursday that six Chinese and Russian military aircraft entered the country’s air defense identification zone (KADIZ) abruptly.
JCS detailed that among the six jets, two were Chinese and four were Russian, adding that they entered and exited KADIZ with no notice. The military stated, however, that South Korea’s air space wasn’t violated.
JCS further said that the aircraft were detected before they entered, after which Seoul’s Air Force fighter jets were mobilized.
