U.S. Embassy spokesperson in Lebanon Jake Nelson disclosed Thursday that shots were fired at the embassy Wednesday evening, but no injuries were reported.
Nelson stated in a statement published by Lebanese channel LBC “that at 10:37 p.m. local time (7:37 a.m. GMT), shooting with small arms was reported near the entrance to the American embassy.”
The spokesperson confirmed that no casualties were reported, underlining that the facilities are secure and that the embassy is in close touch with the law enforcement authorities of the host country.
