The Egyptian port of Al-Arish welcomed the French floating hospital that arrived to provide medical treatment for the injured from the Gaza Strip. The docking of the vessel was supervised by the Egyptian and Palestinian health ministers along with a high-level French delegation.
The Governor of North Sinai stated that the ship “Dixmude” is a Mistral-class vessel equipped as a floating hospital with a capacity of 40 beds, including 25 hospitalization beds, 15 temporary care beds, 5 pediatric care beds, and two fully equipped operating rooms. The ship is staffed with 20 French doctors.
The governor added that a number of injured Palestinians will be transferred for treatment to the French floating hospital through coordination between the Egyptian and Palestinian Ministries of Health and the French delegation. He emphasized that the Egyptian authorities will provide full support and cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the humanitarian mission by this medical delegation.
The Minister of Health mentioned that more than 150 ambulances, meeting the highest standards, have been assigned to the Rafah crossing. These ambulances aim to provide medical services to individuals crossing from the Gaza Strip to Egypt.
