Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, spokesman for the General Administration of Customs, Brigadier General Shukri Jabri, remarked that during the first semester of 2024, the Customs Guard units issued 7,767 customs records, with a total value assessed at approximately 296 million dinars, underlining that the seizures were diverse and included almost all sorts of goods.
Jabri added that some numbers reveal the seizure of more than 17 kilograms of gold, over 4 billion in Tunisian currency, and more than 194 thousand cigarette cartridges. Also, more than 914 thousand litres of gasoline and over 35 thousand pairs of sports shoes were confiscated, along with other very large quantities of different items.
