Singer Mohamed Hamaki Undergoes Emergency Surgery

Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki has undergone emergency surgery and is currently hospitalized in a private hospital in the Mohandessin area of Giza, south of Cairo.

A source close to Hamaki told Al Arabiya Net that rumours claiming he underwent heart surgery are false. The source explained that the operation was to treat a hernia in the abdominal area, requiring a mesh implant in the abdominal wall.

The surgery took place on Sunday, but the singer remains under medical observation in the hospital as per doctors’ instructions. He is anticipated to be discharged within the next few hours.

The source confirmed that Hamaki’s health condition is stable and that he will take some time to recover before resuming his artistic activities after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The source also said that Hamaki had experienced two heart-related incidents in the past. He suffered a heart attack in 2011, which required a catheterization procedure and the placement of two stents. In 2013, he had another heart issue that required minor surgical intervention. This history led to speculation linking his recent hospitalization to past heart problems.
