Six Russian law enforcement officers have been injured in a bomb strike in the North Caucasus region as they attempted to capture a man who blew himself up, counter-terrorism authorities say.
Officers moved to prevent the bomber as he tried to push his way into an area where they were carrying a search operation, the National Counter-Terrorism Committee said in a statement on Friday.
The attack took place in the village of Uchkeken in the Karachay-Cherkessia area of the volatile, mainly Muslim region.
No civilians were hurt and authorities were trying to establish the identity of the assailant, it said.
