The Majerda Canal will undergo maintenance and rehabilitation work at the El Aroussia dam, leading to a provisional suspension of service from February 8 to 19, 2024. This vital work will result in disruptions to the running water supply in several governorates,
Sonede underscored the significance of these operations for the canal’s long-term functionality and reliability. The maintenance and rehabilitation tasks will be managed by the Northern Canal and Water Pipe Operation Company, in partnership with the General Directorate of Dams and Major Hydraulic Works.
Sonede assures the public that normal water distribution in the affected regions will resume once the maintenance work is completed and the Majerda – Cap Bon canal is back in operation.
