Spain detects first case of South Africa virus variant

Officials affirmed that the South African variant of the coronavirus was discovered Thursday in Spain as the Health Ministry announced a fall in new infections.

Galician health officials said they identified the variant in a male who had recently travelled to South Africa for work.

The variant has been found in at least 30 other countries.
