Spain: More than 60 injured in the collision between two tourist buses in Barcelona

A collision between two buses carrying tourists on a busy Barcelona road on Monday left around 50 individuals injured, four of them seriously, local authorities said.

“63 people have been treated,” Barcelona Deputy Mayor Albert Batlle told reporters. “There are four seriously injured, including one minor,” he added.

He explained that one of the buses was stationary when the second hit it from behind. Paramedics had previously reported on Platform X that they had “treated 34 injured people, four of them in critical condition.”

One of the seriously injured people was freed after being “trapped” in one of the buses and taken to hospital.

Footage posted by eyewitnesses on social media showed a white and green bus colliding with a white bus from behind on the avenue, where several ambulances were deployed.
