Stoltenberg: NATO not part of Ukraine war despite providing support

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg insisted once again on Monday that the alliance is “not part of the conflict” in Ukraine despite the fact that it is providing Kiev with military and financial support.

Stoltenberg insisted that NATO has the “right” to send support to Ukraine as the country is defending itself from Russian “aggression.”

The NATO head refused to rule out the possibility of the alliance sending fighter jets to Ukraine in the future, but insisted such a move “would take time” and more immediate support is the priority at the moment. Still, he pointed out that the type of support the alliance has provided Ukraine with has “evolved” numerous times since the start of the war.
