The attack left 10 dead, including the shooter, who was identified as Rickard Andersson, a 35-year-old man with a history of mental health issues and social isolation.
The Swedish police indicated that there were multiple nationalities among the victims. The Syrian embassy in Stockholm confirmed that Syrians were among those killed. The embassy expressed condolences for the victims, including those of Syrian origin.
The shooter entered an adult training centre in Örebro, around 200 kilometres west of Stockholm. The police have not yet explained the motives behind the attack but are actively investigating.
