Ten members of the Haniyeh family, including his sister, were killed in an Israeli raid on their house in the Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza, last night.
Among the victims, several relative members are still under the rubble, according to Palestinian media, which specifies that the majority of the victims are women. The Al Jazeera correspondent reported that search operations for survivors are continuing, and the death toll could increase.
Since last night, the Israeli army has intensified its strikes on the Shati camp, notably targeting a school housing refugees under the management of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East), killing dozens of individuals, including children.
On April 10, three sons and several grandchildren of the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismaïl Haniyeh, were killed in another Israeli raid on a civilian car in the same camp. At the time, the Israeli military claimed that Haniyeh’s sons were “on their way to carry out an attack.”
The death toll from Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 now stands at 37,626 dead and 86,098 injured, the majority of them children, women, and the elderly.
